Refunds and Returns
REFUNDS
We hope you are delighted with your Castro Smith jewellery. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to help resolve the issue.
We offer a full refund on ready-to-ship pieces returned within 30 days of purchase, provided they are returned in their original condition and have not been personalised, resized, engraved, or otherwise altered.
Please note that all made-to-order pieces, bespoke commissions, and customised items are non-refundable. This includes ready-to-ship pieces that have been altered or personalised at the customer's request.
As each made-to-order and bespoke piece is individually crafted to a customer's specifications, significant time, skill, and care are invested in its creation. For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds on these items.
We appreciate your understanding and support of the craftsmanship behind every unique Castro Smith piece.
RETURNS
If you are eligible for a return due to a damaged or defective item, we will notify you once your return has been received and inspected.
Following inspection, we will confirm whether your refund has been approved. If approved, the refund will be processed to your original method of payment.
Please note that it may take several business days for your bank or credit card provider to process and complete the refund.
Jewellery Care
JEWELLERY CARE
Your Castro Smith piece is crafted to last a lifetime. While precious metals and fine jewellery are highly durable, they should still be treated with care.
Over time, your jewellery will naturally wear and evolve, becoming uniquely yours. This may include more pronounced engraving, a slight darkening within recessed details as the piece gathers its own history, and signs of everyday wear such as fine scratches and small dents.
GENERAL CARE
Storage
When not being worn, store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a dedicated jewellery box.
Avoid Chemicals
Precious metals, plating, and coatings can be affected by perfumes, lotions, sun creams, cleaning products, and other chemicals. To minimise exposure, put on your jewellery after dressing and remove it before cleaning, washing dishes, swimming, or bathing.
STERLING SILVER CARE
Store sterling silver jewellery in a cool, dry environment. To help prevent tarnishing and discolouration, avoid prolonged contact with moisture and remove silver jewellery before swimming or bathing, particularly in chlorinated water.
PLATING & COATINGS
Most Castro Smith jewellery is finished with ceramic, rhodium, or 18ct/24ct gold plating.
Outer Surface Plating
Plating applied to the exterior of rings and other jewellery may gradually wear over time through regular use. To prolong its life, avoid contact with cleaning products and remove plated pieces during activities that may cause abrasion or impact.
Jewellery with external plating is best treated as occasion wear. Please note that repairs relating to worn plating are not covered under our warranty.
Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coatings are durable but should be protected from perfumes, oils, cleaning products, and excessive moisture. Exposure to these substances may cause discolouration or damage.
Ceramic coatings can also chip or crack if subjected to heavy impacts, excessive bending, or prolonged moisture exposure.
CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY
General Cleaning
Use a soft microfibre cloth to gently polish your jewellery. For dirt or debris trapped within engraved details, use warm soapy water and a soft makeup brush.
Ceramic Cleaning
Ceramic-coated jewellery should be cleaned gently using warm water and a soft makeup brush. Avoid chemical jewellery cleaners, as these may damage the coating.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon arrival and contact us as soon as possible if your item is damaged, defective, or if you have received the wrong piece.
Prompt notification allows us to assess the issue quickly and arrange an appropriate resolution.
