CASTRO SMITH × PHAETON: September 2026
Ten years after first working together, we’re very excited to announce the arrival of a special new collaboration with PHAETON in Japan.
We have created ten one-of-a-kind, hand-engraved signet rings in 18ct gold, each featuring a completely different motif and character. Every ring has been individually engraved by hand, making each one unique.
The story behind the collaboration began ten years ago, when Castro was engraving motifs onto OLDJOE signet rings at PHAETON. During that time, he shared a thought that has stayed with the PHAETON team ever since, and has become an important part of the story behind this collaboration:
“A cast will last 100 years, but engraving will last more than 1,000.”
Ten years later, that conversation has come full circle.
The new collection brings together PHAETON’s distinctive aesthetic with Castro’s hand engraving, creating ten individual signet rings designed to be worn, lived with and passed down.
There are ten motifs in total, each with its own character. To experience the full collection, you’ll need to visit PHAETON in person and see the rings up close.
